Welcome to Voice of Hope!

Not sure where to begin? That is more than okay. I see therapy as a space where we can sit with what’s uncertain together, in a way that feels authentic, grounded, and meaningful. At the core of my work is a deep belief in human resilience, especially in people who have had to navigate more than their share. I support individuals, couples and children and adolescents (age 7+) experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and challenges related to emotional regulation and personal growth.

My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), positive psychology, and existential therapy. More importantly, I orient myself to you: your story, your pace, and your lived experience.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a management consultant. I’ve been profoundly touched by witnessing human moments in everyday life, even in places that were designed to be transactional. Those moments shaped my desire to support people in times of crisis and in the times in-between. This often looks like self-reflection, growth and possibility.

Wherever you are in your journey, it is a privilege to meet you there.

Hi! My name is Deano and I bring a compassionate, practical, and person-centred approach to counselling. With decades of experience supporting individuals and families through counselling, coaching, pastoral care, and community leadership, I understand that life can bring seasons of unexpected change, loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, anger, discouragement, and personal uncertainty.

My approach is centred on creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where you can speak openly about what you are experiencing. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work with you to better understand the experiences, thought patterns, relationships, and behaviours that may be influencing your present circumstances. Together, we explore practical strategies that can help you move toward greater emotional well-being, healthier relationships, personal growth, and renewed hope.

I hold advanced education in theology, counselling, pastoral counselling, and ministry, including doctoral-level training. I am also a Board-Certified Mental Health Coach and have extensive experience in pastoral and personal counselling. In addition, I hold a General Practice Psychotherapy designation from the CCCCA.

My background allows me to work comfortably with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. For clients who desire it, I can also provide a Christian or faith-integrated approach to counselling while maintaining respect for each person’s individual beliefs, values, and worldview.

My areas of counselling interest include anxiety and stress, grief and loss, relationship and communication difficulties, anger management, life transitions, self-sabotaging behaviours, personal development, spiritual concerns, pastoral and ministry challenges, and rebuilding life following setbacks.

“Sometimes moving forward begins with having a safe place to tell your story, understand where you are, and discover what your next step can be.”
